About Us

Tholur Welfare Trust is a non-profit organization registered under the Indian Trust Act (Reg No: 164/2020) focusing on the prosperity and welfare of the people of Tholur. The land of operation is limited to Tholur Grama Panchayath, comprised of three villages - Tholur, Edakkalathur and Chalakkal, situated in Thrissur district, in the midst of Kerala.


The Trust was formed in anticipation of social need to enable mutual assistance and support in the basic needs of human beings by firmly believing in the values of the Indian Constitution, beyond caste, religion and political considerations.

The following objectives are mainly intended through the activities of the Trust.

  • Fostering a good social culture that enables relief and assistance to the marginalized, the homeless and the afflicted in society, embracing the value of the right to life for all.
  • Realize a society that grows together in honesty, equality, interdependence and cooperation without sectarianism while maintaining mutual understanding and trust.
  • Leading an educated and transformed society who are able to apply modern technologies and scientific awareness and thereby ensuring an economically advanced lifestyle.

The Trust, which was established with the sole aim of social welfare under the leadership of a group of young people working in various fields, has received great recognition in the society. A people's group was formed in connection with the renovation of the dilapidated house of 5 sisters who were destitute and cancer victims in the floods of 2018 and a new house was gifted to them by the collective effort of the people. The idea of forming a trust was emerged from the people to conduct, coordinate and guide such charitable activities more. Thus, Tholur Welfare trust is born.

Why Tholur Welfare Trust?

We live in the midst of divisions today. We are not yet free from the evils of caste, religion and political divisions. They hurt people more than ever. In the midst of extra stresses and isolation that the nuclear life culture has brought, man has become increasingly selfish. No one can take care of others or help them with their needs. Moreover, the lifestyles of luxury, malice and immorality destroy the harmony of society.

When people are afflicted in such material and spiritual devaluation, and not able to experience life in its true essence, the soul of the nation is being buried. The life becomes more struggled and worse with selfishness, pride, jealousy, eager, blame etc. This is where it becomes essential to recognize the inner pulses of rural life and retrieve its innocence and richness. The Tholur Welfare Trust is embarking on that mission.

Since people are the contributors and beneficiaries of social welfare, the Trust sustains on the human resources of the society. Tholur is a scenic village surrounded by paddy fields. The people here are mostly dependent on agriculture. However, there are many people in this land in the construction, teaching, government and self-employment sectors. The land is home to many sports stars, artists and professionals such as doctors, nurses, engineers, accountants, skilled labours etc. We value everyone, equality and stands for the right of people to live in equal status with all respects and benefits. Activities

The activities of Tholur Welfare Trust are comprised of all the social welfare activities. They are categorized according to their nature as follows.

Charity

The charitable activities include medical aid or financial support to poor patients, pain and palliative care, educational scholarships to poor students, home for homeless etc.

Lifestyle Development

These include maintaining hygiene, waste disposal, promoting eco-friendly and quality lifestyles, recreational services, infrastructure development etc.

Consultancy Service

The activity includes providing knowledge and information exchange to the people for their daily needs, for easy doing of business, for ensuring quality of service availed etc.

Career Advancement

Career advancement and training service means helping or training people to achieve advanced professional skills or academic knowledge.

Awareness Programs

These include seminars or awareness classes, visits, presentations, interactive sessions or discussions etc to build a healthy and educated society in all the manners.

Labour Exchange

Labour exchange means to make avail of the expert labours or professionals in their respective fields in the society with more social favour and trust.
